Janet Jackson's announcement that she will be releasing a new album and going on a world tour has fans excited and sparked much interest within the music industry.

Her 'comeback' has some entertainment observers wondering and hoping her goals is to 'shock' the music industry with new, sexually provocative and innovative songs as she did with some of her earlier albums.
She has not released an album since 2008 and there is a hope among some fans that this album will shock audiences with the content and impact her image in a manner similar to how she shocked fans early in her career with the albums "Control" and "The Velvet Rope" which resulted in fans looking at her as the sexy, boundary-pushing music star of the renowned Jackson family.

For several years she has been out of the spotlight but as recently as 2015 her long-time music producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have hinted at her return to the studio and her stating on video that she is coming back in 2015 with "new music, a new world and a new movement" has fans in the music world excited for a legitimate reason (Daily Mail - May 16).
Janet Jackson is not an entertainer who does anything on a small scale and she, similar to Madonna, is someone who has made a practice of 'pushing the boundaries' with the lyrics of her songs and her concert performances.
Moreover, as many of her fans will attest, her announcing a return to the studio for her new album means it has actually been completed or is almost complete and thus there is a feeling that she knows she is going to surprise her fans.
For seven years she has been able to think of a new sound and direction for her music and if the sultry, sexy voice with which she announced her return is any indication than Janet Jackson will be a captivating presence on her tour and her music will shock and captivate the senses of fans once again.
