There has been a lot of talk for many years now, about the possibility of a new Tomb Raider movie being made, with a number of names being linked to the possibility of taking on the role of Lara Croft in the film. A lot of actresses were getting a fair amount of support from fans all over the world, including the beautiful British talent Camilla Luddington.
At one point it seemed like Camilla Luddington was going to land the role, with a huge amount of support from her fans, who loved the work that she had done with voicing Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider video games. However, it was eventually announced that the Swedish actress Alicia Vikander had been cast in the role, much to the disappointment of many people around the world.
Then, a few days ago, it was announced that Camilla Luddington is pregnant and is expecting a baby, which would have meant that she would not have been ready to take on the role of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider movie anyway. Now though, there have been suggestions that Camilla was actually offered the role but that she already knew about her pregnancy, so had to turn it down.
We would have loved to have seen Camilla Luddington taking on the role of Lara Croft on the big screen and we are still not convinced about Alicia Vikander, but we are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The new Tomb Raider movie is aiming for a March 16, 2018 release date.
